11x14 Pen and Ink on Paper "Flourished From Sacrifice" Artist Statement: This piece is a visual tribute to my parents — two working-class individuals whose love, labor, and sacrifices form the foundation of who I am. The central heart, cradled between protective hands, represents the life they nurtured through relentless effort and quiet resilience. Surrounding it, floral blooms emerge from chains and industry — a metaphor for beauty born from struggle, and life cultivated in even the harshest conditions. The factory skyline, smoke, and mechanical gears in the background speak to the environments they worked in — places that often demanded more than they had to give, yet they gave it anyway. And from that, I thrived. This piece is not only a gesture of gratitude, but a reminder: everything I build, create, or become carries traces of their endurance.
