For this monochromatic portrait, I chose to work in shades of pink and red because to me, those colors perfectly capture Morgan’s essence. She’s a pink pop princess baddie—someone who radiates confidence, fun, and bold femininity while still being grounded and kind. Pink has always felt like her color, representing her mix of softness and power. I wanted the painting to feel as lively and unapologetic as she is, so using pinks and reds let me celebrate that energy while keeping it cohesive and expressive.
Tone and value played a big role in creating the mood I wanted. I layered deeper reds and maroons to define the shadows and give the portrait structure, while lighter pinks highlight her features and bring out that glowing, confident presence she has. The contrast between warm reds and softer pinks adds both depth and personality—just like Morgan herself, who can be bold but also calm and thoughtful when it matters. The variation in tone makes the portrait feel alive and dynamic, with each layer contributing to the sense of warmth and charisma she naturally gives off.
The final design reflects Morgan’s essence not just through color but through the energy of the background and composition. I used bold circular and angular patterns to echo her vibrant, unstoppable personality and sense of movement—like she’s always in motion, radiating creative spark. The playful marks and geometric rhythms around her portrait mirror her fun, confident energy and hint at her pop-inspired aesthetic. Together, the pink and red palette, the tonal layering, and the expressive marks all come together to capture what makes Morgan Morgan: fierce and glowing; a love letter to her boldness and the color that defines her.
